How NOT To Make Money Online – Take It From An Expert!

I really get tired of visiting blogs offering the same old same old. You know what I mean, I make $30,000 or so a month and you can too. If I can do it, so can you! Just take my moneymaking course or click one of my affiliate links to purchase so I’ll be sure to make money either way (from you!).

The more traffic the site gets and more things offered, it will be impressive to see the numbers (income reports), they will show you, on how much money they are making. Not only will you be envious, but sold that they are experts on making money online, and you need to get on board so you can copy their success.

Whether the info is offered free, or not, there is always a catch. Well hello, those blogs are making money trying to get you to subscribe to their newsletters so they can regularly contact you to sell you something.

Don’t believe me? Go ahead and join one (or a dozen) of those mailing lists.

Everyone can claim to be an online marketing expert, especially if they have found some success. But the truth of the matter is they didn’t take any special course and basically started from scratch, learning and making mistakes along the way before finding out what works and what doesn’t.

Not every online marketer’s case is the same and doesn’t mean by following their path will be a successful one for you too.

Okay enough of the nonsense, let’s get to my valuable (no) moneymaking tips.

How NOT To Make Money Online:

  • Do various google searches for how to make money online and visit tons of websites that are saying you can make money like them. Join all their newsletters so you can be bombarded with various offers they will surely try to sell you. Confusion will entail, left, right, forward, backward, which way to go? Better to shut your computer off for awhile (maybe a month) to take it all in.
  • Stay up late and sleep in, afterall you are now part of the dot com lifestyle. Do not do anything online other than watch netflix (or check your email or facebook). I repeat, do nothing and the money will start flowing in your inbox (sooner or later) because surely you can make money in your sleep or by doing nothing other than logging online to check your email while watching the latest movie. So do try it out and see if it works.
  • Definitely don’t put any hard work into it because it is supposed to be easy breezy, not like a regular job with overtime. Spend at most an hour a week on your online money-generating machine. If it means detouring to your facebook or instagram to post a cute or funny pic, that should always take priority.
  • If you are going to do an ounce of work, use that time to research a few millionaire bloggers out there, spend time on their blogs & social media accounts to envy their success and look for a cheat sheet (there must be one hidden somewhere!) you can use to get to where they are in the speed of lightning. Certainly don’t get motivated to make any serious effort in building your own wealth, just keep wishing it will happen and wait (as long as it takes) for the money to roll in (from the wild blue yonder).

No money yet from your online venture?  Hmm, I wonder why. Could it be that you want to make money online by a no-work type of way, that it just somehow lands in your bank account without any effort?

I hate to be the one to  burst your bubble but, to earn money online, you need to define your goals, learn the ropes (from scratch), be committed to and willing to invest time (w-o-r-k). Like any business, to launch and make it grow, it takes a lot of effort and commitment. Take it from an expert, there is no easy money solution!

But if you would like to take that leap into uncharted online waters, why not start a blog as that is the quickest and cheapest way to get your feet wet. Your blog can be about anything you have knowledge or interest in that, with time and effort, can earn you some money on the side.

Check out my free tutorial on how to start a blog but do note that I will make a small commission if you click my affiliate link to purchase hosting through Bluehost but (the good thing) you will get a special discounted price.

Remember you could also be earning commissions from your blog too (once you have it up and running that is!) by joining affiliate programs, continually adding content and promoting to grow it (see it as a plant that regularly needs watering).

A wordpress blog is easy enough to start. The free wordpress platform isn’t complicated, so you don’t need to be tech-savvy to use it. I never knew anything when I first started a blog but figured it out soon enough.

It really is a cheap solution to get started online as all you would be paying for is your one-time domain registration ($15), which you renew once a year ($15), and monthly hosting ($6 or less) for your blog. If you don’t already have a domain, you can save the cost as Bluehost includes a free domain name with their web hosting (plus an ssl certificate). With their 1-click wordpress install, it only takes minutes to get your blog live so you can start blogging!

The best part of having your own blog, is that you are your own boss and can choose the hours you want to work, at your convenience. Whether you want to blog as a part-time side hustle or toward full-time blogging so you can eventually leave your day job, the choice is yours and the opportunities are limitless.

Yes you certainly can make money from a blog and it could eventually turn into a source of passive income where you can have both time freedom and money freedom to do the things you want. But (there’s always a but) to get there, you have to consistently work on it by adding content and promoting to build traffic to it (my pinterest marketing strategy will definitely help). There’s a lot you can learn on your own by checking out what others are doing and using social media to your advantage.

My apologies for going off track, as the whole idea here was how NOT to make money online. I hope you get a (clearer) picture of what I was trying to get across.
